- La visita es parte de las actividades coordinadas por la OTLUDEC del segundo semestre de 2012. entre la Universidad Estatal de Nueva York en Binghamton y los investigadores y académicos de la UDEC.
21 de agosto de 2012. En el marco de la ejecución del proyecto INNOVA CHILE para la implementación de la Oficina de Transferencia y Licenciamiento (OTLUdeC), se ha programado para la semana del 20 de agosto la primera visita del experto, Sr. Eugene Krentsel, quien asesorará a la Universidad de Concepción en la elaboración de un Plan Estratégico y Operacional para la oficina de Transferencia.
El Sr. Krentsel es Vicepresidente de Emprendimiento e Innovación en la Universidad Estatal de Nueva York en Binghamton. Actualmente, lidera los esfuerzos de la Universidad en el ámbito de emprendimiento, Gestión de Propiedad Intelectual y Licenciamiento.
El objetivo de esta visita es poder reunirse con los directivos e investigadores de Facultades y Centros, para conocer el trabajo de cada uno e identificar las principales fortalezas y debilidades que tenemos como Universidad en materias de protección de Propiedad Intelectual y Transferencia Tecnológica.
BIO OF EUGENE KRENTSEL
Vice President for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Partnerships at the State University of New York
In his current role he leads the University’s efforts in Entrepreneurship, Intellectual Property Management and Licensing, and Innovation-Based Economic Development. Prior to joining SUNY in 2005 as Director of Technology Transfer and Innovation Partnerships (promoted to Asst. VP in 2007), he was founding Director of the International Technology Commercialization Institute at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Formerly a scientist, inventor and an entrepreneur, he has extensive experience in international technology transfer, as well as in development and management of hi-tech start-up businesses. Eugene is active with the Association of University Technology Managers (currently serving as a Volume Leader on the editorial board of AUTM Technology Transfer Practice Manual). He has extensive international consulting experience related to technology transfer and has guided various companies (including several in Russia) in commercialization of cutting-edge discoveries in computer technologies, sensors, telecommunications, medical devices, and many other areas. Over the last 15 years, he has consulted for various US and international organizations (National Academy of Sciences, US Department of State, International Science and Technology Center, Science and Technology Center in Ukraine, Civilian Research and Development Foundation, American Councils for International Education, etc.) and led projects in Russia, Ukraine, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan and others, as well as published and presented on various aspects of technology commercialization.
He provided training to various international groups on intellectual property strategies, assessing technology market potential, developing “Go-to-Market” strategies, identifying strategic partnerships and funding sources, negotiating techniques, and other aspects of technology transfer, as well as starting, growing, and managing technology-based companies. Dr. Krentsel has served as a judge for the University Startups Showcase and Competition organized by the National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer, and as a reviewer on numerous SBIR panels.
